The Power of Commitment at ASSA ABLOY

To signal our determination, we’ve joined the United Nations Global Compact and became a signatory to the initiative in 2008. This commitment also extends to our suppliers, who work in adherence with ASSA ABLOY’s Business Partner Code of Conduct.

UN Global Compact

As the UN Global Compact signatory since 2008, ASSA ABLOY has proven that technology, quality and integrity can co-exist. It means we support and commit ourselves in promoting and respecting the 10 principles on human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption. For more than a decade, our operations in over 70 countries worldwide have consistently attained above the initiative's targets, while making headway in innovation, sourcing, production, and employee development.

With particular focuses on six of the Sustainable Development Goals set out in 2015, we reinforce our business strategy and practice with a Supplier Sustainability Audit Program and Sustainability Supply Council. Operational details and measurable improvements are summarised in the Communication on Progress Report, prepared annually for the UN GlobalCompact and public's review.

The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)

The UN launched Sustainable Development Goals in 2015, serving as a “roadmap for change” in 17 overarching goals to be achieved by 2030 for a more sustainable future. These goals are interconnected, each addressing a challenge that the global population face. Much of ASSA ABLOY’s sustainability work is aligned with these objectives, with six in particular that are right up our alley.

  • SDG 6: Clean water and sanitation
  • SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth
  • SDG 9: Industry, innovation and infrastructure
  • SDG 11: Sustainable cities and communities
  • SDG 12: Responsible consumption and production
  • SDG 19: Climate Action

With a global presence comes global responsibility. Everywhere we operate, we always strive to take a step closer in shaping a better world.
